Out with the old... US Postal Service

Traditional [snail-mail] promotions are expensive, time-consuming and result in minimal return. They are rarely cost-effective; a brochure or mailing piece must be printed; four-color printing really eats into your budget; if it's not a self-mailer, an envelope must be printed; someone has to prepare the mailing and then there is the cost of postage. While bulk rate mailings cost less, they don't have the same look or impact as first-class mail and may take days or weeks to reach the intended person. Unless a recipient responds in some manner, you have no idea of who sees your promotion. It's not uncommon for a dental office to have a "gatekeeper" who screens the doctor's mail and decides what is or is not important. A 2% return is considered excellent. Now go figure the cost of the necessary response.
